MY STORY
My Experience, My Passion
Andre Bennett is a basketball trainer who was a member of the Mount Carmel High School graduating class of 2020. During his time at Mount Carmel, Andre balanced school and athletics as a 3 year varsity letterman for the basketball team, two of which he served as team captain. He was awarded with the Antoine Walker Most Valuable Player Award and helped lead his team to an IHSA Regional Championship, as well as graduating with honors.
He has continued his academic and athletic career at Lake Forest College, where he studied Business with a focus on Marketing while playing point guard for the varsity basketball team. Since then, he has transferred to Dominican University to further his academic and athletic career. While balancing athletics and academics at the collegiate level, Andre completed his first two years of college with a 3.5 GPA, earning him a spot on the school's prestigious Dean's List.
Playing basketball since the age of 3, Andre’s attention to detail, unrelenting work ethic, and willingness to learn is what distinguishes him from the rest of his peers. In the summer of 2020, Andre launched his basketball training company, “Big Guard Training.” The company’s mission is to develop and implement individual basketball training programs, assess and enhance player skills, and focus on the character, knowledge, and progress of young athletes. Andre’s focus is to teach basketball fundamentals, academic-athletic balance, physical fitness, mental toughness, and life lessons through the game of basketball, all while keeping the game what it is all about...having fun!
